If
you don't need a lot of tension, a quick way to secure the cord of a
duffel bag or pouch, shown above, is by treating the cords emerging
from the holes as a single line and tie a slipknot (slipped overhand
knot) after you tighten the opening. The pre-knotted end will
prevent the loops from pulling all the way through when you use the
loops to carry the bag. Choose any knot you wish for the
pre-knotted end.
